The birth control pill is on it's 50th year being approved on the market. throughout the years they did studies on people in Puerto Rico. Mostly on women. They questioned the ethics of testing the pill on poor, undereducated Puerto Rican women who had been givin little information aboutthe trials that where going to be happening, but the Thalidomide tragedy in the early 1960's led to new regulations on expiremental drugs. One of these expiremental drugs was givin to a European woman during her pregnancy and it it caused her baby to have deformalites and because of that they passed more strict laws on giving out information before test on people.
